Ashley & Joseph’s Intentional, Elegant Wedding in Omaha, Nebraska

What started as a misty, gray morning at the historic Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel morphed in the most thoughtful, warm celebration of love for Ashley and Joe Peterson on July 8th, 2022.

Their day began with the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready in the hotel’s bridal suite, where Hope Deluna from Salon for Women did a stunning job with the ladies’ makeup, while Mandy Kilpatrick perfectly styled their hair. Meanwhile, the groom and groomsmen were having a relaxed and enjoyable morning, sipping on whiskey and laughing together.

Once the wedding party was fully prepped, we took some beautiful photos of the groups separately before the couple had their first look in a colorful, striped hallway in the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel lobby. The emotions were high as Ashley and Joe saw each other in their wedding attire for the first time, and I was able to capture the joy and love on their faces.

After the first look, we headed to St John’s Parish Catholic Church for the ceremony. As a student at Creighton University, Joseph had frequently attended St. John’s for mass, which added a personal touch to the already special occasion. The ceremony was a beautiful and emotional event, filled with special moments between the couple and their families.

After the ceremony, we took family photos before heading to a nearby parking garage for some unique and fun shots of the bridal party. The group was in high spirits, sipping on champagne and laughing together.

The reception took place at Ashley’s parents’ house, where the bridal party made a grand entrance by riding in on a boat. The decor and florals at the reception were all made by the couple’s family, adding a personal and beautiful touch to the event. The evening was filled with delicious food, amazing cocktails and dancing.

As the wedding photographer and friend of the family, it was an honor to capture the love and joy of Ashley and Joe’s special day. I look forward to capturing more special moments for their family as they grow and thrive in new stages of life.
